Allow parents to change child photos.
A child being present on photo day shouldn't determine whether their picture is current or not, and some school photos are just not flattering at all! Allow parents to choose and change child photos rather than having to go through the school. School administrators have more important things to deal with than changing photos and info in an app that is supposed to make things easier and more efficient for everyone.

Make phone number spacing automatic
I should be able to type in my phone number without dashes. The system should be smart enough to know where they go.

For students that choose the odd day to learn online there should be a submission for this so they are not marked absent in the system
My daughter is doing IN CLASS learning. on occasion, she asks to stay home and go online (live) with the class. I suggest having a tab for this so she is not marked absent on My Family Room.

Thanks for your feedback. We agree and are working on a solution so that in class learners can be marked present when they are choosing to join the class online.

Have a parent section to show report cards, as well as teachers comments.
Have a parent section to show report cards, as well as teachers comments. It would be great to have something like google classroom where the parents can speak with teachers and get to see the progress of the students workload and assignments. Just getting a grade mark doesn't represent the efforts or focus of the student understanding.

The UCDSB uses Microsoft Teams, ClassNotebook as well as Brightspace for online learning and to communicate with students and families. Each teacher can decide which product works best for their classroom. You may wish to discuss this with your
child’s teacher or the school principal. -
Parents to be able to leave HOMEROOM TEACHERS messages.
Instead of having 'Parent-Teacher' meetings, we should be able to have a place to leave comments for the teachers or vice versa!

Absence Notification - email alert when school responds / accepts
Today I submitted an absence notification for our daughter who I will be picking up from school early. I received an email notification that the submission was sent to the school. Upon speaking with the School Administrator, she mentioned that she replied to the email notification that the school received ... yet I didn't get an email for this acknowledgement.
I would like to suggest that IF the school replies to the absence notification (not all situations would merit a reply), that an email be sent to the parent with their reply / acknowledgement.1 voteThank you for your feedback. It has been submitted for review in future updates.

Grouping kids at school
I was thinking about how you will split up the children to help with social distancing at school. There are schools that are using color coded face masks to create groups and others are using color coded bracelets. Teacher and children in group have the same colors. This way teachers quickly know if kids are in the wrong groups and need to go back to their group. Purple says with purple...for example.
I also am worried about students being in my kids classes who aren't wearing a face mask for some reason. I think all parents have the right to…

School transfer
If we can register a child for school on this site, it would be nice if we are also able to register/transfer to a new school. We are still in the UCDSB district but he has to change schools. I cannot find anywhere where it gives me the option to do this on this site. It would make things A LOT easier. Especially now with COVID and not being able to go into the schools to register him.
I don't want to wait until September and he be a day or 2 late starting with the rest of the kids.…

Absent reason should include guidance counselor meetings/ called out of class for school testing.
I have received several calls saying my child was absent from classes but he was actually called out of class for testing from the guidance counselor. He was in school, reported to the classroom yet still marked absent.

Registration
Actually have a registration option that registers your child to the school you need. I've tried 3 times now to register my son to the school of his district but am told it never went through. I can't make it to the school during business hours so how else am I supposed to register him?

Desktop vs App
Please give the same drop down menu on the app as there are on the desktop version. It allows for more accuracy.

Having an additional late button to confirm notification
When you received notification that your child is absent, it would be beneficial to have either agree or not or have a late button. The child could be walking in when the announcements are being done, and the attendance has already been taken. Then the office can confirm with the teacher. Or have attendance taken ten minutes into the class.

RELEASED CLASSES
if a senior student that takes on line courses at home and only has one in school class and the teacher has a "release" I understand the student is still suppose to go for "attendance" but what sense does it make for a student to get transportation to the school for the "attendance check in only" if they know they have a release. Then it shows as absent on their record??? but if they drove there and checked in there was no class to attend regardless? could there be a tab to check off for class release and then if…

Add a button for disputing the absentee record as the notice we have is false.
Our kid was not absent, the notice is incorrect. We need a button to send that information.
